Rockburst has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Ma'aden, one of the world's fastest growing mining companies headquartered in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The agreement entails the assessment of Rockburst's Transcritical CO2 Pulverization (tCO2) technology for experimental research and potential investment.

tCO2 is a waterless, tensile breakage comminution technology showing early evidence of significant energy savings compared to incumbent processes (up to 55% in dry environments and 88% in aqueous, according to the latest estimates), and decarbonization properties as shown in experiments where carbon sequestration has been observed with certain ores.

Rockburst joined other companies during Ma'aden's MoU Exchange ceremony hosted during the Future Minerals Forum in Riyadh in January 2023 in the presence of HRH Abdulaziz bin Salman Al Saud, Minister of Energy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Robert Wilt, Ma’aden CEO.
